This is kinda interesting… enter your blog URL at Typalyzer and find out what Myers-Briggs type your blog is…
Mine is apparently “ISFP – The Artists/Feelers”
About this type it says [my comments in brackets]:
The gentle [most of the time] and compassionate [friggin’ bleeding heart, yep] type. They are especially attuned their inner values and what other people need [painfully so]. They are not friends of many words [um, not] and tend to take the worries of the world on their shoulders [want me to hold something else?]. They tend to follow the path of least resistance [not this Artist type] and have to look out not to be taken advantage of [definitely a major issue for me].
They often prefer working quietly, behind the scene as a part of a team [I like being collaborative when I’m not being a hermit]. They tend to value their friends and family above what they do for a living [work to live, not the other way ’round and I’m fiercely loyal].
So well, umm… some of this is true!
I dunno… a bit of fun perhaps. Perhaps it would change depending on the content you write? So if you change the tone and material, it would read differently I guess?
Would be interested to see what it says about my blog friends’ blogs?
~Svasti
I did this and got the same thing! It’s weird because seperate from the blog, my personality type is INTJ.
@KinkyGrace – I don’t actually know my Myers-Briggs type apart from this blog – never done it before! But it is interesting to note it seems to be relatively accurate for me.
I am however, writing about some pretty personal stuff that’s close to the bone. I haven’t checked out your blog yet but I will (I’ve opened it as a window in my browser, will check it out the other side of finishing my house move). But I’m not sure how they’re analysing blogs… perhaps it has something to do with the tags, the content, the structure, words you use and how emotional those words are… who knows?
I think that’s how they’re doing it that way too. I think it said the widget changes the more you write…
Neat, Svasti. It’s cool that it’s pretty on the money for you.
I had to laugh at mine. I consistently score INFP on the profesisonal version of the Myers-Briggs and my blog comes up as an ISTP. I’m not sure if I write like an ISTP on the blog or what. Interesting, though.
@KinkyGrace – clearly I just haven’t read the Typalyzer site properly. I’m so tired… and I’m surrounded by a mound of boxes. Perhaps I’ll take a look later.
@Immi – weird, huh? I think it might just be interesting to understand how your content reads more than saying anything about your personality. Or as in my case, my blog and my personality seem to be closely linked!
mine is the same as yours
@davebones – cool! But… is it a good thing? I confess I really don’t know much about Myers-Briggs stuff!!
Hi there Svasti
I’ve used Myers-Briggs in my work a lot, not as a psychologist, that’s more of a qualification than an occupation, but as a management consultant often doing organisation development or turn-round work. I’ve found it to be very helpful in looking at people and the jobs they are doing in a non-judgmental way.
I’m meant to be an ENFP – I have the highest iNtuition and Feeling scores I have ever seen although I’m not always sure how good that is! 🙂 The ENFP is the “Inspirer”. The description fits me closely.
BUT these types may change over time or even within time depending on the strength of scores. About 15 years ago I was an INFJ, but my P (perception) now is definitely much stronger than my J (judgement). These days, my weakest score that is on the extraversion axis can slip occasionally into introversion where I may become quite different!
Where did you get your interpretation, by the way? What was your “S” score?
@Geoffrey,
As I think I said above, I don’t know much about Myers-Briggs at all, and I really only took this online test. I’ve never been tested in person and this info was pretty much all you get! So I have no idea what my ‘S’ score is/was… or even how much this type for my blog relates to my type as a person…
My “teandoranges” blog comes up as INTP (Thinker) , which matches my result on the actual myers-briggs. My “hotforjesusformerfundie” blog gets INFP (Idealist).
Fun stuff.
@xtine – thanks for visiting! Our mutual friend has only just recently sent me to your blog… and once I have my shit together, I’ll be visiting to comment…
It works well. I’m a mechanic (or a doer, depending on the blog), while my wife’s blog is a performer.
Great link.
I subscribed today.
A second thought: it reveals my initial response to some of your writings. I want to help, offer advice, yak on and on about how to fix things.
But your stories are potent and your process does more than any advice from me.
@SRS – thanks for visiting and commenting. I do think its interesting how some people’s blogs match their personality whilst others might not!
Fixing things… yeah, I wanna fix things too. But seriously, I have so many resources in my kit bag, this blog for expressing what I need expressing. And a range of supportive friends. The rest is up to time.
Thanks for looking in! 🙂
