I’m a little silly. Okay, sometimes I’m silly a lot.
But I swear, this little thought arose innocently from my rather mild but sometimes amusing dyslexia.
Alright, I don’t actually have a diagnosis of dyslexia, but I do tend to get words and numbers around the wrong way with incredible frequency!
So, the other day I was rambling on and meant to say: Your enthusiasm is infectious
But what came out instead, was: Your infection is enthusiasm
And I thought. Hmmm, how wonderful would it be, if we could be infected with positive things?
If, instead of infection being associated with unpleasantness, it was the other way around… just imagine! You could be infected with…
- Happiness
- Love
- Enjoyment
- Loyalty
- Self-esteem
- Confidence
- Friendship
- Comfort
- Wisdom
- Contentment
What else?
For those cynics amongst you, don’t worry, this blog aint about to turn into some shiny-bug-eyed-light-and-lovey epistle with animated gifs of doves and rainbows flying outta the page or anything… okay?
Just… a momentary thought passing, that was observed and toyed with briefly for my amusement.
And I thought I’d share.
Namaste, all.
P.S. Right about now, I’m soaking up the utter joy of hanging with some of my bestest friends. Getting lots of hugs, too. And in a couple of hours, I’ll be meeting up with the rest of my yogi crew for dinner before the beginning of our training (officially bright ‘n’ early Monday morning).

Sign me up for a double dose of all of those. Hope you are having a good time. Thanks for the good thoughts.
Thanks for sharing! If only, wouldn’t life be wonderful! At least smiles and laughter are infectious, so perhaps I’ll start my day be spreading some positiveness around that way π

The lack of animated flying doves n such is appreciated. π I hope you have a great yogi training!
*hugs*
there was an article that went around all my feeds in the health sections of newspapers a couple of weeks ago about happiness being contagious…
here is one example…every news outlet had their own version:
http://www.webmd.com/balance/news/20081204/happiness-is-contagious
and I think it’s quite true…and I liked your thoughts here…it in no way seems to be headed towards the shiny-bug-eyed-light-and-lovey epistle with animated gifs of doves and rainbows flying outta the page direction…
I like inspirational thoughts and they need not be cheesy…
I like this post… π I believe that happiness and anything positive can be ‘contagious’. I think it’s about the aura and vibes that one exude.
I may be spouting codswallop here… but my recent experience with qi gong has certainly taught me that it’s not entirely balderdash.

Oh I love the happy accidents of twisted up words. They can be such a great reminder to think a little differently, to enjoy the swift change of meaning, to laugh and know that must be sure to listen to each other very carefully!
Though I don’t have the diagnosis of dyslexia, more and more I find myself mixing up my letters and numbers. It’s very annoying.
Hope you had fun with your friends!

@tricia – that’s what I think! And yeah, I had a great time π
@Meryine – Good to see ya around these parts again! Smiles and laughter are definitely infectious – go get ’em, tiger!
@Immi – yeah, animated flying doves wouldn’t last long on this blog. I’d shoot ’em… or, not…
@giannakali – that’s a cool article π
@flawedangel – thanks, glad you like! And I’m with you, it aint entirely balderdash.
@Dano – definitely. Too often we speak without really listening to what we are saying, let alone any one else!
@Jane Doe – I’ve heard that there’s something about working a lot with computers that can cause our brains to get all jumbled up. Perhaps that’s my issue? π
A very cool perspective, albeit by accident! And I’m glad you showed restraint with those “animated gifs”…. :o)
p.s. thank you so much for all your kind comments on Lucy…she loves them!
@earthtoholly – Oh geez, no animated NUTTIN’ on this blog!! Lucy is spectacular – such a lovely puppy so its nice to visit your blog for stories about her π
